Tried this vacuum out as soon as it arrives. First thing I noticed upon attaching everything together is its heft. The vacuum has a lot of power in picking up even larger items that my Dyson won't. So in terms of suction power and variety of items to pick up, this vacuum performs terrifically. However, it is on the heavier side of the fence as a handheld mobile vacuum. I also believe that's where this vacuum beats my Dyson in operating power range. Back in my V6 and V7 days, typical Dyson vacuum lasts between 7 to 15 minutes at best depending on age and mode of power used. Even when I replaced the batteries anew, I could never get more than 20 minutes out of them Dysons. This vacuum cleaner did last more than 30 minutes and the power indicator is on the lower half bar strength, so I'm guess it does have another 15 or so to to. I did try to use the highest power setting and after some 10 minute run upstairs it still shows more than half-battery life left. This thing just works well. I also did find the highest power setting to work too hard and got all the rugs pulled and bogged into the suction spout when I wasn't being careful. This is some strong stick vacuum. I find suction mode at 4 to be in the best of worlds. But when I get this to work on my kitchen tiled floor, I crank it up to 6 and use it like a broom. Performs much better than my two old Dyson units.Overall, I'd say I'm very pleased with this stick vacuum. I don't mind the heft because I know more battery and more motor power means more weight. And while Dyson sort of figured out the best combination in the operating window. I'd still think if you have a house that's got some real estate to cover in one run, you may want to bias your selection towards these heavier stick vacuums for their battery life and suction power. My house is around 3k sq-ft and it takes at least 3 separate runs to do my flooring, that is, if I solely use the Dyson stick vacuums to dot he job. Nowadays, I have Romba upstairs so that took half of the work out of the equation anyways. But when I grab the hand-held stick vacuum, I usually go all the way till the battery drains to limp mode. So having this vacuum around will really change how far I'll reach in each vacuum run.
